In the defamation suit filed by Chhattisgarh Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Ajay Chandrakar, the local court of First Class District Judicial Magistrate Dr Sumit Kumar Soni here on Thursday ordered for registering a case under Section 500 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and  also serve notices along with it against the accused Manjeet Kaur Bal and Krishna Kumar Sahu.

Notably, Bal and Sahu had earlier filed a case in the District Court, Dhamtari alleging disproportionate property amassed by the Minister. The Court handed over the matter to Economic Offence Wing (EOW), which later gave clean cheat to the Minister.

Bal and Sahu then approached Chhattisgarh High Court where the plea was dismissed. Thereafter they approached Supreme Court from where they withdrew their case.

The Minister after filing defamation case at local court in Raipur alleged that even after getting clean chit from various forums and courts, the accused did not stop defaming him.

The accused were not only harassing him mentally but were also trying to malign his reputation by making baseless allegations and statements in media, he said.
