Chhattisgarh Sports and Cultural Cell of lok Janshakti Party (lJNSP) will constitute district, block, and village level committees to organise different sports and cultural events for Scheduled Tribe (ST) children of weak financial background. “The objective behind organising such event is to promote children’s interest in sports and cultural activities” said the newly appointed State chief of lJNSP sports and cultural cell, Navaldas Manikpuri, here in a press conference on Friday. He emphasised on promoting local sports including Kabbadi, Chousar, Gilli-Danda, Wrestling etc. among the youths.
This apart, lJNSP has planned to promote different forms of folk dances and music by providing platform to the youths and people from all walks of life to exhibit their talent. Therefore, the party will launch a hunt to discover hidden talents of Chhattisgarhi people to promote the same at State and national level, Manikpuri added. lJNSP National Secretary, Shyamlal Sahu and the State General Secretary Mukesh Verma expressed their belief that with the party appointing Manikpuri as President of its Sports and Cultural Cell for State, he will promote local sports and folk arts.
