The Chhattisgarh Government on Friday ordered the closure of liquor shops for three days at places in view of local body polls to be held in certain parts of the State, officials informed.
The closure order applies to street vendors, bar and restaurant clubs. The shops will be closed two days prior to the polling on December 27.
It may be mentioned here that bye-elections are going to be conducted for the urban bodies and three-tier panchayat polls.The closure order was issued by the Commercial Taxes Department (Prohibition) on the directives of the Chhattisgarh State Election Commission.
