Governor Shekhar Dutt on Sunday attended the prize distribution function of the annual fruit, flower and vegetable exhibition organised here at a crowded garden in heart of Raipur.
The exhibition was organised under the joint aegis of the Jindal Steel and Power ltd (JSPl), Indira Gandhi Agriculture University, Chhattisgarh State Horticulture Mission and Raipur Municipal Corporation.
Governor Shekhar Dutt said that the nature lover who is interested in horticulture impresses all through the art of flower and leaf, as if an artist presents his beautiful paintings on the canvas and a singer invokes the magic of music by his voice.
He said, “Greenery is most essential for our life, like as oxygen for breath. We get oxygen from greenery, which is most important for our health. Planting saplings is not only enjoyable but it is beneficial for our health also. We need to promote greenery and nature in the country and the state.” Urging the citizens, he said, “We should make our children nature lovers and link them with greenery.”
Assembly speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal said that in the exhibition a stall has been installed from the Rajbhawan also, which inspires people. In the year to come, stall would be installed by the Vidhan Sabha also. He said that the exhibition has provided direction to the citizens to link up with the nature.
The governor felicitated the persons associated with the annual fruit, flower, vegetable exhibition and competitors.
