Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday asked the Cooperative Banks to lift the upper limit for withdrawal of money.
Baghel said he had received complaints from farmers that only Rs 49,000 can be withdrawn in a day from the Cooperative Banks.
Holding a meeting with district officials at village Khapri in Bilaspur district, he said the upper limit should go be it through withdrawal through cheques, ATMs or money transfer through NEFT or RTGS.
He also asked officials to hold camps to resolve the issue of caste certificates on receipt of complaints.
The camps should also resolve compensation issues related to those affected by the Bhainsajhar project. This must be completed by June, he said, after officials highlighted 40 controversial cases.
Baghel underlined the need to stop encroachment of land and resolving revenue related disputes. This, he said, would help to reduce crime.
If land dispute is a reason for crime, then the revenue officials and police should coordinate. If not, it will invite action against the officials of both the departments and the urban administration, he said.
On complaints against Panchayat Secretaries and Patwaris, Baghel asked the Collector to submit a report. In the case of Patwaris, the Sub Divisional Magistrate should investigate and take action, he said.
