The first mobile hospital train of the world, ‘Jeevan Rekha Express’ also known as lifeline Express will be stationed at Raigarh Railway Station for about a month.
The train will be stationed on the Platform number one at Raigarh Railway Station from July 26 till August 24, 2014, officials informed. The train is being run, by India Foundation in association with Indian Railways and the Union Health Ministry, with an aim to create health awareness and provide free medical treatment to the neglected poor.
The train, which started on July 16, 1991, has five coaches and is equipped with advanced medical equipments. After making necessary arrangements, the specialist doctors will examine the patients and perform surgeries, if needed, from August 2. The doctors will perform plastic surgery besides surgery for , cataract, cleft lips, Polio affected children and patients having burn marks. Treatment for eye and teeth related diseases will also be provided.
The authorities concerned have prepared a schedule for the medical examination and operation to be performed by the team of experts in the Train. Meanwhile , with a view to clearing huge rush of passengers, South East Central Railway (SECR) division will run 14 trips of a weekly special train between Bikaner and Bilaspur.
As per the schedule, the train number 08245 will leave from Bilaspur station at 6.05 pm on every Thursday and will reach Bikaner at 5.55 am on next Saturday. On return, the train number 08246 will leave from Bikaner station at 11.59 pm on every Saturday and will reach Bilaspur at 12.45 on next Monday.
The train number 08245 will start running from July 31 till October 30 while the train number 08246 will start running from August 2 till November 1, 2014. The train will have 12 coaches including 6 sleeper coaches, 2 AC-II class and 4 AC-III class coaches. The Railway authority has also decided to run 4 trips weekly special superfast train between Kamakhya and Pune Railway station from July 28 to clear the rush on this route.
As per the schedule, 02512 Kamakhya-Pune Weekly Superfast Special Train will leave from Kamakhya at 10.45 pm on every Monday and will reach Pune at 2.45 am on next Thursday. On return, the train number 02511 will leave from Pune at 10.45 am on Thursday and will reach Kamakhya at 3.15 pm on next Saturday.
The train number 02512 will start running from July 28 till August 18 while the train number 02511 will start running from July 31 till August 21, 2014. The train will have 15 coaches including 2 SlRD, 4 general coaches, 7 sleeper coaches and two AC coaches.
