lakhma scotches rumours of joining Jogi's party

Published on:

Congress legislator from Konta and long time Ajit Jogi loyalist Kawasi lakhma has rejected rumours doing the round that he is joining Chhattisgarh Janata Congress (Jogi).

“Amit Jogi is politically naïve and I disprove his recent statement that I am going to join CJC(J), the party recently floated by the former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi. My loyalty is only towards Congress party,” lakhma said in a press statement released on Friday.

Four times Congress MlA from Konta and a key tribal leader of insurgency-riddled Bastar region, lakhma was also vice-president of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC).

Recently, former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi’s son and Marwahi legislator Amit Jogi had stated that he had family-like association with lakhma. Amit Jogi had even expressed possibilities that lakhma could join CJC(J).

lakhma while disproving Amit Jogi’s statement termed it ‘a political stunt’ and said he had political relations from Jogi as long as he was in Congress party.

“After Jogi parted ways from Congress I do not have any relation with him,” he claimed.
