nIndustries and Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma, refuting the charges leveled by BJP leader Dr Shivnarayan Dwivedi that he had a nexus with Naxals who carried out Jheeram Valley massacre, on Friday demanded narco-tests on state’s former chief minister Raman Singh, former home minister (HM) and Director General of Police along with him.

Demanding narco-tests on the trio, Lakhma in a statement at Chindawada in Bastar said this will bring to fore the truth about who were involved in the massacre conspiracy.

Accepting the demand of Dwivedi, he said he was ready for the test but along with him the narco-tests should also be carried out on former CM, HM, DGP and other senior police officials responsible for security of the Congress leaders participating in the Parivartan Yatra.

Notably, an entire generation of top rank of the state-level Congress party leadership was brutally massacred in the Jheeram incident.

A total of 29 persons were killed in the incident, which include the then Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Nandkumar Patel, veteran Congress leader Vidyacharan Shukla, former Leader of Opposition Mahendra Karma, Congress leader from Rajnandgaon, Uday Mudliyar.
