The condition of a three-year-old and a five-year-old, who were grievously injured in a pressure cooker bomb blast at an Anganwadi centre in the Naxal-infested Narayanpur district on December 18, is improving.
The victims Radha and Ramu are undergoing treatment at BR Ambedkar Hospital in Raipur city. District Women and Child Development Officer Ml Gosai and two other officers have been directed by the Narayanpur district administration to supervise their treatment in the city. “The condition of the children is better than before and they are showing constant improvement. I will stay in Raipur till the time Radha and Ramu recover completely,” said Gosai, adding that the Anganwadi centre, where the incident occurred, has been reopened.
Children Development Project Officer Pratibha Sharma had visited the Anganwadi Centre on December 20. After inspection, Sharma met the villagers and advised them to send their children to the Centre. She also instructed the Anganwadi Assistant to ensure proper cleanliness and hygiene of the children at the Centre.
The treatment expenses of the two children are being borne by the administration. District Panchayat CEO Kartikeya Goyal has issued instructions to maintain a record of the childrens’ condition.
