Khadi and Gramodyog Minister Guru Rudrakumar on Monday underlined the need to promote khadi clothing as it generates employment to rural folk in Chhattisgarh.
He said this at talk show on khadi at the Shaheed Smarak Auditorium here on the 75th martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Minister said the state government was making every effort to follow Gandhiji's ideals and concepts.
He said efforts have been made over four years to offer jobs to jobless through khadi manufacturing.
“Every attempt is being made to take khadi to the masses and to promote khadi clothes," he said.
A fashion exhibition was held in which khadi-clad housewives and models spread their charm on the ramp. The clothes were designed by students of AAFT University.
