Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday that Kabirpanth has had a wider impact on life in Chhattisgarh. This is the reason the state is known as an island of peace in the country.
He was addressing an event of the Sadguru Kabir Sant Samagam organized to mark Maghapurnima at Damakheda in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.
Sant Kabir Das cannot be forgotten, and his philosophy of life is priceless, said Baghel. He said Kabir Das says that a person should be simple but in the present scenario it is most difficult to be simple. One has to seek the Guru’s grace for it.
He said Damakheda is a major centre of faith of Kabir Panthis. The government is committed to the development of the entire Damakheda, including an ancient pond, here.
He pledged not to set up any sponge iron industry within 10 km radius of Damakheda and to construct a well-equipped dharamshala for tourists. He asked officials to expedite the construction work of Kabir Sagar.
