Bharatiya Janata Party State president Ramsevak Paikra on Thursday said that the term of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi immediately after formation of Chhattisgarh was that of scams, terror and
political misconduct.
The Congress regime in Chhattisgarh under Chief Minister Ajit Jogi reminded people of the dark days of emergency of 1975 when terror acts were carried out to eliminate the opposition, he said.
Within three years of Congress rule under Jogi, the people decided to topple the government while making way for the installation of BJP Government in the State, Paikra said.
He said that the development achieved during the past nine years done by the BJP government in Chhattisgarh would be the prime poll issue of the ruling party during the ensuing Assembly polls.
The government led by Dr Raman Singh in Chhattisgarh has thought about welfare of all sections of the society for their holistic development. Keeping this in mind, elaborate programmes had been implemented in the State, he said
Paikra said that the Congress party cannot even imagine about the policies implemented for betterment of tribal population, education, health and food security implemented during the BJP rule in the State.
He said that the ruling government carried out purchase of 73 lakh tonnes of paddy while making payment of Rs1,923 crore to the farmers besides payout of Rs270 per quintal as bonus to the farmers.
Paikra said that the State had set new records in infrastructure development. ‘Chhattisgarh is a power surplus State. While the rest of the country is struggling with power cuts, the cities and villages of Chhattisgarh are illuminated with surplus power supply’.
The State Government had also planned construction of 4,100 kms of new roads at a cost of Rs2,000 crore under Chief Minister Rural Road Project, Paikra said.
