Jogi should issue statements within limits: Upasane

Published on:

State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice president and Spokesperson Sachchidanand Upasane has said that former Chief Minister and Senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi needs to understand his limits and issue statements within its ambit.

He was reacting to Jogi’s reported statement that BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi should not try to establish his leadership outside Gujarat.

It appears that Jogi, besides seeing AICC President Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi through his coloured glasses, perceives nothing beyond the seat of power and his very own dynastic rule in Chhattisgarh, Upasane said.

He said that the former Chief Minister does not take into account the views of UPA leaders mainly P Chidambaram and Umar Abdullah on Modi’s influence over the country's people. Upasane said that Jogi also does not see the teeming millions who participate in Modi’s rallies in various parts of the country.

He said that if Modi is not an established leader outside Gujarat, then the former Chief Minister should hold the public meeting of AICC president Sonia Gandhi at Dongargarh when Modi is to address a public meeting there on the same day. Modi has earned the faith of the people of Gujarat thrice and now the entire country is looking at him with hopeful eyes.

If Jogi is such an established leader then why the Congress party does not muster the courage to declare him as the Chief Ministerial candidate in Chhattisgarh, he asked.
