Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi has been served a notice by the Returning Officer of Kunkuri Assembly constituency for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct by using misleading words over use of EVMs in a public meeting in the region. Kunkuri seat would go on polls in the second phase of Assembly election on November 19 in the State.

Jogi allegedly told the participants of the public meeting that they would suffer an ‘electric shock’ if they pressed buttons on EVMs other than the Congress candidates while casting their vote.

The BJP had filed a complaint on the issue with Collector and District Election Officer lS Kain, while alleging that Jogi had threatened the people to vote in favour of the Congress candidate in the constituency.
