In a shocking incident a jilted youth stabbed a girl and slit self throat at Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital (BRAMH) on Monday.
The conditions of both persons are serious and they have been admitted in ICU, police said.
According to police the accused Vickey (25) hailing from Ramnagar Railway Yard Hosangabad, Madhya Pradesh on August 29 had eloped with Anis Edward Masih (19). “Anis Edward Masih is a patient of diabetes and thyroid and after duo reached Raipur the health condition of Anis declined. She was then admitted in BRAMH,” said investigating officer.
Police further said relative of Anis lives in Raipur who somehow came to know about their presence in city who then informed Anis relatives in MP.
The family members of Anis then reached Raipur at hospital, suddenly after seeing them in hospital Vickey took out a knife and stabbed Anis around throat area and also slit self throat, police informed.
Meanwhile, both the accused and victim are undergoing treatment and their condition was reportedly serious. Moudahapara police on complaint of Abhishek Masih has registered a case against Vickey under Section 307 of Indian Penal Code which reads to attempt to murder.
