Marking the second day of protest over the hike in excise duty on gold in the recently announced Union Budget, the jewellery shops of Bhanupratappur remained closed on Thursday.
The Jewellery Association President Ranulal Bhothra said the shops will be closed till March 4.
Sources said the prevailing situation is causing trouble to the locals as they are unable to purchase jewellery items . The owners have decided to go on infinite strike if the excise duty hike is not withdrawn by the Government.
