Hundreds of Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC) (J) youth wing workers led by the State Vice President Rajesh Pal and State Secretary Akash Nayak on Tuesday switched over to Congress.
They joined the Congress before Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Bhupesh Baghel and other senior leaders of the party on Tuesday. Formal memberships were given to them in a simple function at State Congress office Rajiv Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion the newly joined leaders said that JCC (J) had now diverted from the goals they have set earlier.
It was decided to fight all the 90 assembly seats in upcoming polls. The party has now entered into alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and is now restricted to 55 seats only.
Before entering into alliance with the BSP, the party leaders and workers were not taken into confidence. Instead the party has imposed the decision, they said.
A large number of JCC (J) workers from Khairagarh also joined Congress along with these two leaders. They blamed the JCC (J) candidate from Khairagarh, former Member of Parliament Devvrat Singh of exploiting the people of the region.
