Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) (JCC) (J) declared one more candidate for the Assembly polls on Monday.

The party announced the name of Santram Rathia as an official candidate from Dharamjaigarh assembly constituency.

Notably, Dharamjaigarh is a Scheduled Tribe (ST) reserve seat and Laljeet Singh Rathia is sitting MLA from there.

The Congress party has a strong base in the region and the JCC (J) had also put a challenge from there by betting on Santram.

Notably, the JCC (J) is in alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Communist Party of India (CPI).

JCC (J) has got a seat share of 55 seats for 90 member state assembly. It is declaring candidates in several stages and this was the seventh list with the single name.

The Bahujan Samaj Party has strong base among Scheduled Caste (SC) community and hence most of the seats it has received in seat share are SC reserved seats. Whereas another alliance partner, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has strong hold in South Bastar and it has been given seat share there.
