In a massive Income Tax raid carried out on Monday, about two dozen offices and premises of three leading construction companies based in Raipur were searched by the sleuths.
Though the amount of tax evasion have not been disclosed but sources in IT department said that it may run in several lakhs of rupees.
The sleuths searched over two dozen premises ( including residences and offices) of RCP Infratech Private limited, Parthivi Constructions (P) limited and lal Ganga Builders Private limited.
Sources in the IT department informed that the searches began around 5.30 am and it would continue for a day or two.
In Raipur, the site-office premises of RCP Infratech’s ‘VIP Karishma’ a multi-storied residential project situated on Vidhan Sabha Road, Khamardih, Shankar Nagar; resident of its Chief Managing Director (CMD) Rakesh Pandey situated in VIP Karishma and VIP Club were included in the search, the sources said.
In the same way, office and residential premises of Parthivi Constructions (P) limited Managing Partners Shailesh Verma and Sanjay Baghel in Bhilai and Patan in Durg respectively were also covered in the raid.
Raid was also carried out in a private engineering college run by the Parthivi Group at Bhilai-3 area. The group’s corporate office in Raipur situated at Tatibandh area also saw presence of taxmen.
In the same way, the IT sleuths also covered the offices and residential premises of lal Ganga Builders Private limited Managing Director lalit Patwa. The office premises of the group at Corbiz Bhawan and Corbiz Towers, in addition to residential premises of lalit Patwa at Tagore Nagar were being thoroughly searched. The teams were reported to going through the records recovered from all three premises.
