A jumbo team of Income Tax department on Thursday carried out a massive search and survey operation on Singhania Buildcon Group, a leading property developer/builder of Chhattisgarh, its business associates, partners and collaborators fanned across 25 places in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
The IT sleuths during the joint operation covered 25 premises, 10 premises in Chhattisgarh including Bilaspur, Raipur and (Rajim) Mahasamund districts, while the remaining 15 places brought under the ambit of IT swoop were in Jabalpur district.Of the 10 places in Chhattisgarh, 6 places being searched and surveyed by IT sleuths were alone in Bilaspur district, followed by 4 premises in Raipur and two premises each in Rajim.
The preliminary estimates of the IT swoop were running into crores even as exact quantum for the outcome was yet to be ascertained since the taxmen were busy in scrutinizing heaps of incriminate documents, cash and valuables seized from all these premises.
Prashant Jha and Sanjay Kumar, the two senior officials belong to the Investigation Wing of Income Tax Department in Jabalpur and Raipur respectively, were supervising the massive IT operation, sources told The Pioneer.
