Chhattisgarh Police on Friday busted an IPL betting racket operating at a residential house in Raipur city and arrested eight persons.
Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police Abhishek Maheshwari said they were Suraj Nagdeo, Sheikh Naeem, Krishna Poptani, Rahul Holani, Lokesh Meshram, Virendra Kumar Sarathi, Amit Bhatt and Suraj Mishra.
The first four are from Raipur city while the others hail from Durg, Janjgir-Champa, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh respectively.
Police seized 15 mobile phones, 13 ATM cards, a Wi-Fi hooter, Rs 5,500 in cash and betting records detailing transactions of crores of rupees from them.
They had bet on an IPL match to be played between Lucknow SuperGiants and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday evening.
