Over 100 superintendents of 129 hostels and ashrams attended the five-day training programme conducted on the instructions of Collector Ritu Sen here at Kanya Shiksha Parisar. The training programme was aimed at making working strategy for the overall development of children residing in hostel and ashrams by ensuring their active participation in sports and extra-curricular activities, apart from academics.
Collector Ritu Sen asked the superintendents to involve children in dance, song and sports activities. Children should be motivated to take part in these activities as this would certainly lead to their overall development, she said. Giving emphasis on exploring the inherent capabilities of the children, the Collector asked the superintendents to ensure that they get timely meals and other facilities.
Superintendents should behave like parents with the children and provide them necessary guidance as and when required, she said. The Collector stressed on providing hygienic environment to the children as it would put a good effect on their studies and other activities. She also laid emphasis on not using tobacco or any such products in front of the children.
