An international seminar (webinar) on sickle cell -- ‘Advances in sickle cell disease’ -- will be held here today.
The webinar is being jointly organized by the Sickle Cell Institute Chhattisgarh Raipur and the Indian Academy of Paediatrics.
Dr Ifran Noor, Clinical Haematologist from Amsterdam University, will be the key speaker, Dr Arvind Neral, Director General of Sickle Cell Institute Chhattisgarh Raipur, said in a press release.
Dr Noor is a renowned expert on sickle cell and his works have been published in various International journals, Dr Neral said.
Dr Neral said Chhattisgarh is among the worst sickle cell hit regions of India and the numbers of sickle cell patients run in lakhs.
Such seminars will help doctors in Chhattisgarh get the latest updates on this disease, Dr Neral said.
