In the backdrop of upcoming monsoon, State Government has instructed all the local urban bodies to take necessary measures for prevention of infectious seasonal diseases. Director, Urban Administration and Development Department has issued a circular to Chief Municipal Officers and Commissioners of all Municipal Corporations. In the circular, the officials concerned have been instructed to prevent water-logging near the roads and at building construction sites located within the jurisdiction of the concerned urban bodies. Moreover, they have also been instructed to ensure regular cleaning of drains in the city. Circular also states that larvivorous fishes and larvicide sprays should be used in the areas, where no water-exit arrangement is available and the problem of water-logging is frequent.
