The Central Jail Administration here will only allow sisters of the undertrials and convicts inside the high security prison on the occasion of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ on August 21 this year.
The sisters would have to bring along their identity cards to seek entry into the prison, an official release issued here on Friday stated. The sister would be able to meet the prisoners for 20 minutes and they could register themselves for the meeting on August 21 till 10 am.
Priority will be given to those who have registered themselves in advance. The sisters of prisoners who have not registered themselves in advance will not be able to meet their brothers. Official at the Central Jail also informed that the sweets weighing upto 100 gms brought along by the sisters would be first examined. The visitors would not allowed to carry any valuables inside the jail premises such a mobiles, purses, cash or any other high cost item and would be frisked at three stages by woman employees in the jail.
