Collector Alarmelmangai D has made an appeal to the representatives of political parties to inform the people about the functioning of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) ahead of the civic polls. The Collector, in a meeting of the standing committee held here, said the process of preparation for civic body elections has already been started and political parties should abide by the Model Code of Conduct imposed for the elections.
She said the EVMs would be used for exercising the franchisee for presidents as well as ward corporator. The option of ‘None of the Above’ (NOTA) would also be available in the machine . District Panchayat CEO Chandan Kumar informed about the provisions of Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) plan.
