Need to inform the new generation about the sacrifices made by freedom fighters during the struggle for independence of the country that they may be inspired towards patriotism and social service, said school education, tourism and culture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal.
Addressing the inaugural function of the three-day patriotism-based drawing, rangoli and group dance competition ‘Tare Zameen Par’ organised for schoolchildren at indoor stadium here on Tuesday, Minister Agrawal said that thousands of people had laid down their life to free the country from the shackles of slavery.
He said, people from every caste, creed and religion gave their contribution, with brotherhood to get the country freed. This specialty was our identity and asset, he added.Agrawal said that today the responsibility to maintain the unity and integrity of the country is before us. The new generation should hold this responsibility on their shoulder. Patriotism, social harmony and brotherhood, which are in our culture, should be strengthened further, he added.
Coordinator of the programme Yogesh Agrawal said that on the occasions of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and Independence Day, State-level drawing, rangoli and group dance competition programme ‘Tare Zameen Par’ has been organised.Besides this, along with Rahen-2013 Swarozgar Margdarshan Shivir, different programmes related to patriotism will be organised up to August 15, he added.
The culture Minister, at the inaugural function of Tare Zameen Par, under the aegis of social service organisation ‘Fix Foundation’, felicitated five talented Government school students Vikas Usendi, Bhuvneshwar Sahu, Anand, Hitesh Yadu and Anita Sahu. The foundation has also taken the responsibility of further studies of these children.Agrawal also honoured musician Sohan Dubey. Vice Chancellor of Pandit Ravishankar University Dr SK Pandey, other peoples’ representatives, schoolchildren and sports persons were also present on the occasion.
