India's U-19 team will have to work hard: Yuvraj

The pitch of New Zealand favours fast bowlers and the batsmen of Indian team will have to strive hard in such a condition in the Under-19 World Cup”, opined Cricketer Yuvraj Singh. He was here in the capital on Thursday to promote his clothing brand ‘Youwecan’.

Talking to reporters, he said he was optimistic that Prithwi and Abhishek Sharma would play good cricket in New Zealand Under-19 World Cup going to be held from Jan13 to Feb 3.

He further said that the pitches in New Zealand were different from those of  India and spin bowling would not work there. Batsmen too have to work hard in such a condition and will have to face tough time there, he said.

Yuvraj was here in the capital to promote his clothing brand ‘Youwecan’ whose profit he gives for philanthropic work for treatment of cancer patients.

He launched his clothing range at a shop in the capital.

The player informed that the profit earned through the sale would be used as an aid to the cancer patients.

Yuvraj has also founded Foundation Cancer Charity of India for this purpose.

He said that new members of the Under-19 Cricket team have plenty of  chance to excel.

Yuvraj said that before the construction of Saheed Veer Narayan International Cricket Stadium in Naya Raipur, Eden Gardens in Kolakata was the only stadium of its size.
