Indian strategic roads angers China: Chouhan

China is angry with India because it has built a web of strategic roads along the borders, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Sunday.

The Indian roads have seen 98 percent completion and China sees it as a warning sign, the BJP leader told a 'Chhattisgarh Jan Samvad' virtual rally.

“The whole world is with India and annoyed over China's misadventure,” he added, referring to the killing of 20 Indian soldiers on the border by the People's Liberation Army (PLA).

Chouhan said: “The India-China border issue started from the period of Nehru as he backed China as a permanent member in the UN Security Council. China later backstabbed India by taking away a large area of India. Still the same situation continues.”

He said the Madhya Pradesh government gave Rs 1 crore as compensation besides one house and a government job to the nearest kin to soldiers from his state who died in action while Chhattisgarh gave only Rs 20 lakh to the family of soldier Ganesh Ram.
