'In name of Pathargarhi, tribal being misguided'

Some outsider miscreants are attempting to misguide the innocent tribal of the State to violate the Indian constitution in the name of Pathargarhi, said Union Minister for Tribal Welfare Jual Oram.

Oram is in State capital, Raipur on Tuesday to participate in a symposium of Vanwasi Kalyan Ashram, a frontal organisation of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Talking to the selected media persons, Oram admitted that the Gram Sabha was an apex body as per PESA Act, but opposition of Government programmes are unconstitutional, he said. Oram further appreciated the Raman Singh Government in the State for its efforts for uplift of the Scheduled Tribes. Citing Eklavya and Prayas schools initiated by the Government of Chhattisgarh, Oram said this will change the fate of tribal and their new generation by showing them the right path to progress.

Further commenting on Pathargarhi, Oram said and warned the tribal populace of the state that “the ways which people the running movement of Pathargarhi are speaking, is the language of Maoists. Nothing can be achieved with it”.

On the other hand Union Minister of State for Tribal Welfare Sudarshan Bhagat who was also here to participate in the programme talking to the media persons denied that there was any discontentment among the tribes of state against the BJP Government.

Bhagat who hails from Jharkhand where too this movement had taken place said both the Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh Government were doing the best they can do. The tribal in both the states are being benefitted by various welfare schemes being run for them, he said.
