The imbroglio between the parents and the Khasla Public School management on the closure of Hindi medium in the school could not be settled so far. On Tuesday morning, a tense situation was witnessed when the parents of Hindi medium students locked the gates of the school.

To control the situation, police restored to cane charge. Block Education Officer (BEO) Dongargarh, Nirbhaylal Raote, talking over telephone, informed The Pioneer that collector Ashok Agrawal has ordered to maintain status quo till April 30.

By April 30, the administration will take a decision on the issue which shall be acceptable to all. The BEO said that initially, the Khalsa Public School had started Hindi-English medium school with affiliation to Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE).

later the school got Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliation. Then the school management transferred the English medium students into CBSE and decided to close Hindi medium in the school.

About four months ago, the school management informed the parents of the students studying in Hindi medium about its decision. “The parents were protesting the closure of Hindi medium in the school,” the BEO added.

Meanwhile, District Education Officer (DEO) Ranjandgaon TK Sahu said the school management had informed that they would conduct board exams for classes 10th and 12th only.

The management was also ready to give admission to Hindi medium students in lower classes in CBSE English medium. However the parents association was not ready for it and demanding to continue CGBSE course on the same campus, he added.
