IIT-Roorkee to conduct survey in Chhattisgarh

Published on:

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee  will conduct survey of urban and rural areas of the State and an agreement has been signed by the State Government with the institute in this regard. This was disclosed by Revenue Minister Prem Prakash Pandey in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday. During the question hour, BJP member Santosh Bafna raised the issue of delay in preparation of Nazul sheets of 11 villages included in the Jagdalpur Municipal Corporation.

Bafna said that the Jagdalpur Municipal Corporation was formed 12 years ago and the Nazul sheet is yet not prepared. Due to this, people are facing problems in diversion.  The local officers give excuse of unavailability of trained manpower and required equipment, alleged Bafna. Replying to the question, Pandey said that the Nazul sheet of Jagdalpur before formation of the Municipal Corporation is available. The process of preparation of Nazul sheet after inclusion of 11 villages in the Municipal Corporation is underway.

Pandey said that Nazul sheets has not been prepared in the State after 2002. The Government has signed agreement with IIT Roorkee which will conduct survey of urban as well as rural areas. After the survey is completed, the Nazul sheets will be prepared. A similar question was raised by Congress member Santram Netam regarding pending issues related to mutation, bandobast, rectification, division, delimitation and lease renewal of properties in Kondagaon district. Pandey replied that the issues will be resolved once IIT-Roorkee completes the survey.
