The Technical Education Quality Improvement (TEQIP) Programme conducted by IIM Raipur concluded here on Wednesday.
The first session was addressed by Prof Satyasiba Das on “Adapting to fast changing needs”.He enlightened the participants on the changing needs on the education sector.This was followed by an address on “Communication and Behavioural Skill” by Prof Vinita Sahay, Chairman FPM.She spoke on effective communication, types of communication and importance of communication for the gathering.Sahay explained to them about how to improve learning, non-verbal communication and the art of making a presentation.
The importance of “Counselling and Mentoring” of students was taken up by Prof. Atri Sengupta. She talked about the millennial generation that has grown up in the age of social media.Sahay said that the mentors should be aware of the traits of the new generation mentees who are ambitious and creative. They prefer to challenge the system and have their own viewpoints.This was followed by a lecture on “Publishing in Top Class Journals” by Dr Sumeet Gupta.
He spoke about why research is important, what is the outcome of research and where to and how to publish one’s research. He shared the ground realities of publishing.Dr Sanjeev Prahsar and Dr Prashar raised the issue of counselling in the present paradigm.
