The three-day inter-college youth festival ‘Madai — 2014’ being organised by Indira Gandhi Agriculture University (IGAU), Raipur will begin here on Wednesday.
The festival will be inaugurated at Swami Vivekanand Auditorium in the University premises at 10.30 am on Wednesday, an IGAU press release issued here stated.
The vice-chancellor, Dr SK Patil will present as the chief guest while the dean faculty of agriculture, Dr SR Patel will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
Dean, Students’ Welfare, IGAU, Dr VK Koshta informed that the government and private colleges being run by IGAU across the State will participate in different events during the festival.
IGAU Cultural Co-ordinator Dr BP Katlam said that the students will be selected on the basis of their performances in different events and will be sent for national-level events to be held in the near future.The festival will conclude on November 21.
