The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for Durg lok Sabha seat Saroj Pandey on Thursday said here that she has worked for all sections of people during her political career by initiating developmental works in the area.
She said the entire society benefits from the development and she has done work for the development of all sections of people. “Although the region was discriminated against by the Central government, I tried to carry out the work with the help of the state government. I raised different issues both inside and outside of Parliament,” she said. It was because of her efforts that Durg got several new trains and old trains were also extended to Durg, she said.
Expressing her confidence that the BJP government is forming the government at the Centre, she said it would help her undertake more developmental works in the region easily. Pandey urged the people to elect her to Parliament and Narendra Modi as the Prime minister.
While campaigning for Pandey, Cabinet minister Ramshila Sahu said nobody has been able to surpass Saroj Pandey who has made a record in the political field with the blessings of the people. She has created a world record by becoming a mayor, legislator and lok Sabha member in her career. Work and development is the other name of Saroj Pandey and by electing her, “we have been developing the Durg lok Sabha area,” she said.
District BJP president Thanuram Sahu said Pandey has earned name and fame to the state by becoming the national president of the BJP Mahila Morcha. She has a special identity whereas the Congress has fielded a man who neither has any idea of the locality, nor has any acceptance in his own party.
The people of Durg-Bhilai also do not know him properly, he said.
