The district Sports and Youth Welfare department organised ‘I-Day Run’ on the occasion of Independence Day.
A friendly cricket match was also played between journalist-civilian XI and Officers XI.
The district administration officials informed that Bijapur legislator Bheema Mandavi, district Collector Mohammed Kaisar Abdul Haque, Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Arun Prasad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jila Panchayat Samir Bishnoi, students and residents of the city took part in the run.
The Independence Day run beginning from Collectorate premises Darapara, Raigadhiyapara, Mini Stadium culminated at Janpad Panchayata ground.
later on in the friendly match, officers XI took over Journalist-Civilian XI. The Journalist-Civilian XI was led by BJP legislator while the district collector was the captan of officers XI.
After winning the toss officers XI scored 170 runs in 20, while the counterpart was humbled at 75 after loss of wickets.
