The Independence Day preparations have begun in Surguja district with Collector Ritu Sen delegating responsibilities to officers for the successful holding of the function at the district headquarters.
The main Independence Day function of the district will be held at the Government Post Graduate College ground at Ambikapur.Before the main function, flag hoisting will be held at all Government offices between 7 and 8 am.Officers were instructed to celebrate the Independence Day in a simple and dignified manner. The Assistant Commissioner, Tribal Development and the district education officers (DEOs) were asked to hoist flag in the educational institutions under their jurisdiction at 7 am.
The Collector directed all the departmental heads to be present at the programme venue for the Independence Day celebrations.At the Independence Day function, those employees of various government departments, who have discharged their duties with dedication, honesty and responsibility, will be honoured.The Collector has asked the departmental heads to submit the list of such employees immediately, so that they could be honoured at the Independence Day function.
She also told the officers to extend special invitation to such citizens of their jurisdiction, who have done commendable work for the development of the area or village.Superintendent of police Sundarraj P was also present in the meeting.
