The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) teams on Wednesday removed hundreds of posters and banners and other publicity materials as a part of the exercise to check violation of the model code conduct in force in the city for the urban body elections.
The city investor of RMC said that the drive was conducted in eight zones of the city. In total 1541 banner posters of different political parties and candidates were removed by RMC squad. Apart from removal of banner posters, the teams removed wall writings at six different places in the city. Meanwhile Commissioner RMC has ordered the City Investors to continue the drive till the model code of conduct remains under effect. Notably polling for 70 wards of RMC will be held on December 29.
