he Congress on Tuesday alleged that a huge drug cartel was operating in India with the political patronage of the Narendra Modi government.
Former Union Minister Rajiv Shukla told the media here: "The consignment of drugs that has reached the country has pushed the youth’s future into an abyss. It is connected to the Taliban in Afghanistan," he said.
The drugs were brought on an import licence of Aashi Trading Co and its owner-couple allegedly received Rs 400,000 as importing and handling agents. "The real ‘drug cartel’ has gone missing," he said.
He urged two sitting Supreme Court judges to investigate the matter.
