House adjourned briefly over law and order

The Chhattisgarh Assembly was on Monday adjourned for five minutes after the BJP’s adjournment motion on the law and order situation in the state was turned down.

Shivratan Sharma (BJP), speaking during Zero Hour, alleged a breakdown in law across the state.

As examples, he cited the death of Additional Sub-Inspector Vikas Sharma in Mahasamund, a theft at the residence of BJP Rajya Sabha member Ramvichar Netam in Ambikapur and the abduction of a minor boy from Raipur among others.

Waiving a copy, Brijmohan Agrawal (BJP) said that on Holi, 147 families of village Cherikhedi were served a notice of evacuation. The villagers marched for 20 km to reach Raipur.
