A team of Chhattisgarh Government’s Health department will commence inspecting at the premises of all the private hospitals on Monday in the district to check existence of standard facilities as notified in the Chhattisgarh Nursing Home Act 2013.
The State Government had sought online applications from all the private hospitals in the district under the Nursing Home Act to issue licences to them after inspection of standard facilities. As many as 925 applications had so far been received in the district from private hospitals, official sources here informed.
It may be recalled that a number of private practitioners in the district during their protest on December 3 last year against the implementation of the Nursing Home Act had stated that only one law has been made for all big and small hospitals, which was not practical.
The Nursing Home Act is being implemented in the State to curb irregularities in the private hospitals and nursing homes and for that online application has been sought from all small and big hospitals.
The Chhattisgarh Suraksha Manch at a meeting held on December 3 last year at Shaheed Smarak Bhavan had discussed the benefits and disadvantages of the Nursing Home Act.
In the meeting, the doctors stated that about 6,000 doctors treat patients in the State under Allopathy and Ayush systems, whereas, 30,000 doctors give their services in rural areas who were trained in Alternative Treatment System, Ayurved Ratna, Vaidya Visharad, Electro Homoeopathy, Para Medical etc.
State president of the Manch Dr RS Thakur and other doctors had stated that the Act had been made for all the systems of treatment and all the hospitals. Information is being collected from even small clinics.
It is impractical. However, this Act is not being implemented in government hospitals, where medical services are being imparted through Mitanins and Anganwadi workers, they stated.
They also stated that many a fake institutions in the State distribute degrees, but the Government, inspite of considering such issues, was engaged in bringing many bindings on private hospitals.
