Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik welcomed the directive of division bench of High Court, Chhattisgarh on Wednesday to handover the probe into the killing of BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi to NIA.
Kaushik said central probe agency will conduct inquiry in professional manner and hold in-depth probe. With the decision of High Court, the family of Bhima Mandavi and BJP now have hope for justice.
Kaushik commenting on Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s statement of approaching the Supreme Court on the issue, he said it is quite surprising and painful.
“Why the state government is fearing the NIA probe? Is there any secret which will emerge out after the probe? It seems hindrance is being created for an independent probe into the incident,” he said.
Central government using its powers had announced the NIA probe after the death of Bhima Mandavi. Kaushik urged that Congress government should not create any problem, when the NIA probe is being done.
