About 15 people suffered stings after a swarm of honey bees attacked a social gathering organised at Khutgaon on Saturday evening. The victims have been admitted to the Community Health Centre. The condition of 7 people is said to be critical.
According to sources, nearly 450 people of Nareti community had gathered to convene a meeting arranged in the village. There was huge Mango tree near the venue with a massive bee hive hanging by its branch.
Around 12.30 pm, panic prevailed at the venue when bees attacked the people gathered under the tree. The people started running helter-skelter to save themselves from the attack. Almost 15 people suffered stings in the incident of which 7 are reportedly critical. The victims have been admitted to the Community Health Centre for treatment.
The victims are Jaggeram, Dharamsingh, Umendram, Narsingh, Brijlal, Chainsingh, Punnuram, Ram Sai, Dhansingh, lalit Nareti, Pankuram, Samaruram, Rajendra, Anesingh and Dinesh Nareti.
According to Block Medical Officer Kamalkant Hathgiya, out of 15 admitted patients, condition of seven is serious, but they are out of danger.
