To associate HIV positive women and the female sex workers with economic activities, the Chhattisgarh government will provide them personal and group loans to them under loan scheme of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh’, officials stated.
Under this scheme, these women will be provided personal loan of Rs 10,000 and group loan of Rs one lakh at nominal annual interest rate of 3%. The State Government's Women and Child Development Department has made provision in the context in loan scheme of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh’.
Ex-Officio Executive Director of 'Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh' (Secretary of Women and Child Development Department) has issued circular to all the Collectors, District Programme Officers, District Women and Child Development Officers and Ex-Officio District Managers of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh’.
As per the circular, women who are HIV positive or sex workers will be given loan under the popular loan scheme of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh’, so as to help them take up economic activities for self-employment.
The circular states that this loan will be provided as per the eligibility, after producing medical certificate issued by a Government Doctor.
These women will receive personal loans at nominal annual interest rate of 3%, after their proposal presented through District Manager of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh’ is approved by District Collector concerned.
