BJP lok Sabha member from Korba Dr Bansilal Mahto performed a bhoomi pujan for construction of a high school at Tanakhar village panchayat which comes under Podi Uproda block here on Friday.
During the occasion, local MlA Ramdayal Uikey was also present. Meanwhile, Dr Mahto awarded cash prize of Rs2,000 and Rs1,000 to two Mitanins, respectively for their ‘committed work’. Similarly, two girls were also awarded with cash prize of Rs500 for their outstanding educational performance.
While addressing the gathering, Mahto said, “better career can be achieved by students only through hard work and proper education’’. “Government has opened schools in every village, now it is up to villagers to make the best use of such schools,’’ Mahto opined.
Also present during the occasion were Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district President Pawan Garg, Janpad President Kiran Markam, Santosh Devangan, Akshay Garg, district Panchayat member Dr Pawan along with large number of local people.
