With a view to ensuring better power distribution, the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company ltd (CSPDCl) is in the process of constructing very high pressure lines and sub-stations across the State.
Recently, a ‘Double Circuit Inter-connector Distribution line’ system worth `6 crore was activated at Mungeli in Bilaspur district of the State.
CSPDCl Managing Director Vijay Singh said that after activation, the 14-km long line would ensure uninterrupted power supply to Pandaria, Kawardha and Mungeli areas.
He added that this line has been constructed to connect 132 kw sub-station in Mungeli with under construction 220 kw high pressure sub-station. The new sub-station would be commissioned by the end
of June.
Singh said that during the formation of Chhattisgarh State, there had been only 27 ‘high pressure sub-stations’. For solving the problem of low voltage in urban, rural, agriculture, industry, commercial and domestic sectors, the company has set up 83 high-pressure sub-stations across the State, which have a total capacity of 11,826 MW.
While outlining the benefits of ‘Interconnector line’, the MD informed that now Pandaria, Kawardha and Mungeli areas would get power not only from 220 kw sub-station Bemetara Bhatapara but also from under construction Mungeli sub-station. This will ensure optional power supply for the areas in case of any major breakdown.
