The Chhattisgarh High Court decision dismissing a petition filed by a Congress leader against BJP leader Raman Singh is a slap for the Congress government and its leaders, the former Chief Minister said on Wednesday.
It has been again proved that the Congress spreads lies, he told the media.
“Congress leaders including the Chief Minister for a long time have been leveling a series of allegations over the property held by me. In 2008, 2013 and 2018 all the submitted election affidavits were examined by the Election Commission and Income Tax Department but no discrepancy was found,” he said.
But the petition was filed in the court. Steps will be taken for action against the persons involved in filing false cases, he said.
“The double bench of the High Court has dismissed the case as not based on facts, baseless and politically motivated. There is no need for further investigation through any agency.”
Congress leader Vinod Tiwari filed the petition alleging that Raman Singh held assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
