Health Department teams in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region had to cross                  rain-swollen rivers to reach remote villages to vaccinate people against Covid-19.

A team crossed as many as three rivers to conduct the vaccination drive in Lingapur, Nela Kanker and Marudbaka villages in Bijapur district.

On their way back, the water level in the rivers including Rala Vagu, Ilka and Konga Vagu had rises due to torrential rains. The team crossed them with the help of villagers to return to their base.

The distance between the Community Health Center at Usur and the Sub Health Center at Marudbaka is about 30 km. All the              villages are on the opposite side of the river.

The Health Department team included Rural Health Officer Jyoti Sidar, Nagmani Chilmul, Ramesh Gaddem and teacher Anand Rao Yalam. The water level in two rivers was knee deep while in Konga Vagu it was chest deep.
