Health Minister denied lack of availability of generic medicines in the 195 ‘Jan Aushadi’ Centres of State prescribed by the doctors in monsoon session of state assembly on Monday.

Earlier, during the calling attention motion, BJP member Devji Bhai Patel raised the issue of lack of availability of generic medicines in the state's ‘Jan Aushadi’ Centres .

Replying to the calling attention motion, Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar denied lack of availability of generic medicines in the 195 ‘Jan Aushadi’ Centres of state prescribed by the doctors.

As per the directive of the Central government in the 187 centres of the State and Raipur based centres, the medicines are being made available. The centre is being run for all categories of families, he said.

Chief Medical and Health Officer of a district as per directives of the State government is the Directing Authority. At district hospital and community hospitals, space is made available to run the Jan Aushidi centres, Pandey said.

Tender was called for providing laundry services in six government medical colleges and D.K.S. P.G.I (Super Specialty Hospital). It had human resources including chemical, washing of machines, OT dress, bed sheets among others were included in one tender. If different tenders had been called for all these, then one rate would not be across the hospitals. It would take excessive time and affect quality of cleanliness. At present three tenders had been floated, he said.

In his reply, Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar said that it is incorrect to state that favourable tender has been issued to provide benefits to any person .

The tender applicants could not provide the necessary documents, that is why the tender process has been cancelled.
