Health ID card at all health centres

Published on:

Under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the health identity card (ID) will be made available in all government hospitals up to primary health centres in Chhattisgarh.

The ABDM Director has issued guidelines to all the District Chief Medical and Health officer and Civil Surgeon cum Chief Hospital Superintendents, an official communication said.

The making of the health ID of each person is a must. It has been made clear that the health ID and Ayushman Card are totally different.

Making a health ID will not help in availing the Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Dr Khoobchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayta Yojana (State scheme), the letter states.

The letter states that in the first phase all the district hospitals and interested private hospitals are being linked with the Hospital Management Information System or e-hospital system.

The hospitals will have to enter the data of health details and medical services provided to the patients. It has also to be linked with the 14-number ID of the patient.

Under the facility, the electronic health identity card can be opened by a patient or person authorized by the patient at any hospital/doctor where he/she is seeking medical care anywhere in the country.

The online health ID is generated based on individual's Aadhaar and mobile numbers.
